Hoi formal dress worn by 6th warrior class officers in Japan. Kariginu without any crests was called Hoi ,and Kariginu was used over 4th class. In the regulation book of 1794 says that officers of the rank with over 3rd class put on a left folded Eboshi hat with a purple chin strap in contrast to white paper chin strap of below 4th class officers. As a warrior, he holds Wakizashi small sword with a Chukei fan. In early 18th century, even 5th warrior class officers were allowed to wear Kariginu.
